Well, there's a few things I think you should know!

The mix overall is kinda... muddy? There's not a lot of treble going on, and the guitar feels underpowered. Also, lol@the chimes sample cutoff. Might wanna make that sample fade out instead? Or maybe just get rid of it? I dunno. I'll totally post it if you fix these issues.

Alright you dirty pirate hooker. I did overlook the chime duration at the beginning (tempo change screwup), and I boosted the guitar just a smidge. Turned up the high end on the master a very very small amount. Not sure what you're basing your assessment on, but I wouldn't say this is muddy just because it's got lots of mid-lows. Sounds fine to me /shrugs :P

I can barely hear the flute in the beginning in the new mix, and the entire song seems to be on the quiet side. Looking at it in Audacity, it looks OK, but watching the equalizer in Winamp, it usually seems to be peaking out at a significantly lower height (in al ranges) than any professionally-mastered CDs I have. I'm not a pro sound engineer, but after poking at it in Audacity a bit, I've come to suspect the problem is that the lead is proportionally much louder than the rest of the song, which makes the rest of the song too quiet when the track is normalized.

Compositionally, I wasn't initially a fan of the breakdown around 1:15-1:50, but after doing some compression and amplifying in Audacity so that I could hear it better, it grew on me a little - still not sure it's the best thing for the remix there, but it's alright. In contrast, the solo following that is really good. It's stuff like this that makes me like your OC ReMixes, too.

The general feel of this remix and the sounds (especially the lead synth) reminds me of Motoi Sakuraba and his Tales of/Star Ocean combat themes. That's pretty cool.

With a remastered version I would OK this in a heartbeat. But I am pretty hesitant to approve this file as-is.

Wow, you guys are just as bad as we are (OCR judges). :P This was actually a track I've thrown together because a friend of mine requested that I do it and has therefore been pretty low-priority. I'm not particularly partial to the series, and not to sound like a douche or anything, I don't really care if it gets posted. I've only worked on it when I had time over the past few months, and I'm content enough with it considering it's one I never would have done except for the request. Do with it what you will, but again, based on where this lies for me on my priority scale, the chances of me remastering it are on the low side of doubtful.

Hahahaha, OK. Wouldja be okay with it if we had someone who's confident in his mastering skills (like Xaleph, if he ever shows up?) adjust the file and then post it? I'd do it myself, but I would worry that I would introduce clipping ('cause I'm not good at noticing it) or something.

You're a "wall of sound" kind of guy, eh? Aight, I had some free time this morning, so I ran it through T-Racks and slammed the RMS to the roof (and turned down the mid-lows and upped the high some more)
