Submission Guidelines

Content Rules

1. Submissions should be original rearrangements of musical works from an animated work. (Traditional drawn animation, claymation, and 3D animation are all acceptable.)
   • YES: The Snowman
   • NO: Terminator 3
   • MAYBE SO: Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, A Scanner Darkly
2. The original song must have been created for the original animated work. This means you cannot use licensed tracks that existed prior to the creation of the animated work. Exceptions can be made for animated works created specifically for classic songs.
   • YES: Little Drummer Boy
   • YES: "Gravity" by Maaya Sakamoto (used specifically for Wolf's Rain)
   • NO: "Girls on Film" by Duran Duran (even though it was used as the opening theme to Speed Grapher)
   • NO: "Paranoid Android" by Radiohead (even though it was used as the ending theme to Ergo Proxy)
3. The source animated material must be no more explicit than what is considered R-Rated (Restricted) by the Motion Picture Association of America.
   • YES: South Park
   • NO: La Blue Girl

Submission Agreement

Public Domain: The submitted song is a derivative work from a song that is in public domain.

1. Once the artist(s) submits a song, the submitting artist(s) are granting Anime Remix a non-exclusive, sub-licensable, perpetual and universal license to use, distribute, perform, and/or to incorporate it in other works in any form, media or technology.
2. All songs submitted to Anime Remix are copyright by the submitting artist(s).
3. Upon submitting a song, the artist(s) indicate that they are the sole owner(s) of the material and contributor(s) to the arrangement of said material in the form of a derivative work and will be reviewed to ensure it meets the standards stated above.
4. This license applies to material submitted by artist(s) before the effect of this agreement.
5. Anime Remix is prohibited from distributing material for profit. All donations to the site are spent on hosting and promotion of Anime Remix.
6. Anime Remix may Evaluate, Accept, or Reject material for issues stated in other sections of this page, for copyright violations, or by request of the artist(s) as well as other copyright owners.
7. The submitting artist(s) are free to distribute or license songs at other locations.
8. If the submitting artist(s) requests removal of a song at any time, these songs will become hidden and unaccessable to the general public. The supporting data excluding the song itself will still exist for historical reference only available to Administrators of Anime Remix, copyright holders, and those on a need to know basis (example: lawyers, judges, and other government officials).
9. Anime Remix will not protect or defend the submitting artist(s) from legal action dealing with other copyright holders.

Non-Profit/Educational: The submitted song is a derivative work from a song that is not in public domain.

1. Once the artist(s) submits a song, the submitting artist(s) are granting Anime Remix a non-exclusive, sub-licensable, perpetual and universal license to use, distribute, perform, and/or to incorporate it in other works in any form, media or technology.

1. Once the artist(s) submits a song, the submitting artist(s) are granting Anime Remix a non-exclusive, sub-licensable, perpetual and universal license to distribute only through streaming technology.
2. This license prohibits Anime Remix from using, distributing, performing, and/or incorporating it in other works in any form, media or technology without further consent from the copyright holders.
3. All songs submitted to Anime Remix are copyright by the submitting artist(s).
4. Upon submitting a song, the artist(s) indicate that they are the sole owner(s) of the material and contributor(s) to the arrangement of said material in the form of a derivative work and will be reviewed to ensure it meets the standards stated above.
5. This license is only available for artists of original work who wish to submit a derivative and can legally sell/distribute the material.
6. Anime Remix is prohibited from distributing material for profit. All donations to the site are spent on hosting and promotion of Anime Remix.
7. Anime Remix may Evaluate, Accept, or Reject material for issues stated in other sections of this page, for copyright violations, or by request of the artist(s) as well as other copyright owners.

Terms of Use

A derivative work submitted, reviewed, accepted, and distributed by Anime Remix will be referred to as 'animix'.

Public Domain/Non-Profit/Educational Terms of Use:

1. An animix may be downloaded for personal use and enjoyment.
2. Anime Remix does not grant the ability to distribute animixes for profit. To legally distribute with profit, consent must come from the copyright holders and abide by the laws corresponding to the jurisdiction(s) (countries) to which the animix belongs.
3. In the instance that an animix can be legally distributed for profit, any reference to the organization 'Anime Remix' must be removed.
4. If an animix is being performed, redistributed, or used in other works, the media must clearly attribute the artist(s) who created the animix and Anime Remix. The format must be "Artist Name(s)" followed by "Anime Remix (http://www.animeremix.org)". If the technology enables a link, there must be a link pointing to http://www.animeremix.org.
5. A redistributed animix may not be altered to be different from the files provided from Anime Remix.
6. Changes to the original animix may occur if it not being used for distribution. This includes burning personal CD mixes or reformatting to listen on other devices (example: iPod).

Limited:

1. A limited animix may be listened to at Anime Remix.
2. Downloading of a limited animix from Anime Remix or Anime Remix's mirror sites is prohibited. This does not include the cache used to play the limited animix. The stream may not be used in any way to create a replication of the limited animix.
3. Anime Remix does not grant the ability to distribute limited animixes for profit. To legally distribute with profit, consent must come from the copyright holders and abide by the laws corresponding to the jurisdiction(s) (countries) to which the animix belongs.
4. Anime Remix prohibits any limited animix stored on it's site from being streamed on other sites.
5. In the instance that an animix can be legally distributed, every reference to the organization 'Anime Remix' must be removed.

Anime Remix reserves the rights to terminate this license at any time. In the case that the license has been terminated, redistributers of animixes must contact the original artist(s) for a new license and all references to Anime Remix must be removed.
