The Journey to the West

This is definitely one of the most interesting songs I've heard.  It seems to border minimalism, and seems to break a lot of rules, and yet it sounds very professional and pleasant to listen to.  It may not be something for everyone to get into, but it's a song worth checking out.  The flutes that come in around 2:00 seem to bother me a bit, probably just how they're arranged.  However, the rhodes piano balances them out very nicely.  Some of the transitions could be much better.  However, the different parts of the song are very nice sounding, so some of the transitioning could be overlooked.  The drums don't seem to change much, but I think the melodic qualities of the song make up for that as well.  The ending could probably have used much more as well (besides just filtered drums and echo, but I suppose that worked and wasn't bad really).

This seems quite a remarkable piece of music.  It sounds refreshing to hear something really unique like this.
