I think zzzzzzzz...... summer in Kyoto is more like it. This song was seriously putting me to sleep. Overall, the quality/presentation was really good. I don't think I'll write a long review of this one so I can actually stay awake.
Sequencing: nice soft easy listening/jazzy arrangement. Everything pretty much flowed smoothly and the instrumentation was neither too simple nor overdone. Transisitions were smooth and song kept interesting. Song was somewhat repetitive, but it wasn't really distracting, and there was quite a lot of variation. 9/10
Mixing: There was some static in the beginning; also, the instruments were not of the highest professional quality. The bass may have been a bit heavy on the low end (there seemed to be quite a few frequencies missing, actually). Instruments could have been equalized quite a bit better. However, the overall mastering wasn't too bad. I didn't hear any clipping on headphones, although volume was pretty high. The samples were pretty high quality, so it was overall pleasant to listen to. 7/10
Concept: The choice of instruments was pretty much perfect for the genre. There was ensemble playing parts of the melody, and lots of solos. Structure was also pretty good, balancing repetition with variation. Perhaps more risks could have been taken with the song, but nothing was seriously wrong with it. 9/10
