Yep, it's a chiptune. It's been a while since we've had an American animation and I believe that Craig Smith did a great job.

I'm not really the expert when it comes to chiptunes, but if it's enjoyable and it follows some music theory, I generally look to OverCoat for the thumbs up. Since he approves, I've gotta say - welcome to Anime Remix as a new remixer =)
